Associate Account Manager (New York or California)

APartnership is an award-winning Asian American advertising agency based in New York. Independently owned and operated, our success is rooted in our creative process, our entrepreneurial spirit, and ultimately, our love for the Asian American communities we work in. Our client roster boasts such blue-chip accounts as Bank of America, the California Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Protection.

Primary responsibilities will be to support key accounts in strategy, planning and day-to-day operations in an effort to deliver on client objectives and mine growth opportunities. As such, we seek an action-oriented problem solver with an inclination to think outside the box to encourage progressive dialogue.

Specifically, you will:

  • Serve as the clients’ trusted partner, and provide expertise on in-language markets
  • Craft POVs on Asian-specific messaging strategies, creative rotations, target nuances, website frameworks, and more
  • Own all production elements for offline and online channels (TV, digital, radio, print, OOH, website) and oversee full process, from creative development to tactical media execution
  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, such as budgets, production schedules, client presentations and approvals
  • Brief internal creative and media teams on campaign needs, and ensure campaigns are set up for success
  • Collaborate effectively with partner agencies, including leading weekly calls and updating status reports
  • Contribute to agency marketing and new business pitches periodically

To be successful, an ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in account management at an advertising agency (3+ years) and hold a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proactive, with a strong work ethic: Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Thrives on exceeding expectations, and willing to go above and beyond to ensure excellence. Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight in a small agency environment.
  • Passionate & curious: Demonstrated affinity and passion for multicultural marketing, especially for Asian communities. Not afraid to ask questions or challenge norms. Knowledge of an Asian language (Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) is an asset, but not essential.
  • Organized and action-oriented: Meticulous, with an eye for accuracy and structure. Enjoys paying attention to detail.
  • A critical thinker and strong communicator: Able to think ahead and across multiple disciplines. Adept at crafting narratives in written/presentation form, and comfortable presenting. Emotionally intelligent and able to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
